Search marketing in the new media era.

Andy Beal to Take Pilgrimage to Find Animal Spirit
For those of you who know me well, you’ll know that I am a deeply spiritual person. In fact, my friends have always found it odd that I work in the high-paced world of internet marketing. While I love the search engine industry, I feel I can no longer hold back from the call; the deep yearning; the feeling that I need to find my inner animal spirit.

With the busy summer speaking circuit coming up, now is the time for me to take a break, a spiritual sabbatical if you like. I need to find my secret animal-self. I need to know if I am a hawk, a dolphin, a horse or merely a little tiny kitty-cat. In any event, I’m heading out at 6 pm today on a pilgrimage that I hope will help me find my true calling and put me in touch with my animal spirit.

As of 6pm today, Garrett French will be in charge of Search Engine Lowdown. He’ll be taking over all news posts at the site and will be doing his best to fill the gaping void left by my big head shoes. I’ve decided that my pilgrimage should take me from the east coast (starting in North Carolina) all the way to California. I plan take in every mile by foot and stop at the major zoos on the way, do some volunteer work and try to really connect with the animals that I meet.

I’m not sure when I will be back. Who knows how long it will take me to get to California by foot. If you see me on the road, please say a cheery “hello” and you’ll go a long way in helping me on my quest.

Sigh…it’s going to be hard to leave the blogosphere and I hope you’ll still continue to read and support Garrett. This is probably the toughest decision I have ever made, but I feel it is a journey I must take, in order to satisfy the longing…the burning desire…the need to know just exactly what animal lurks deep within me.

Cheers!

Andy
