Search marketing in the new media era.

August 02, 2005

Search Engine Strategies, Click Z Sold for $43 Million
This is like hearing my high school was sold. No word that I've seen on whether or not Danny et al. will remain. Both SEW and the SES sites are mum as of 10:40am est. I'm sure there are announcements forthcoming.

MediaPost reports, "London-based trade publisher Incisive Media plc, will be paying about one-time full 2004 revenues for the Jupitermedia assets."

Here's Incisive, and here's their press release.

Update:

TW found Danny's comments on the sale.

* The Search Engine Watch team -- me, Chris Sherman, Gary Price and Elisabeth Osmeloski -- are carrying on with our regular work as part of the deal. While the owners are changing, the quality content we aim to deliver to you is not.

* The upcoming SES San Jose show is continuing just as before, as are other shows on the agenda and further shows to come.

ClickZ covers the news too.

Update 2:

Alan Meckler, Jupiter's CEO, discusses the sale.
