Yahoo vs. Google at CES
This is from Charlene Li's CES wrap-up post:

The Yahoo! speakers were well rehearsed, but they were, well, rehearsed. In contrast, Larry Page was far from the most dynamic speaker, frequently checking his paper notes. But there was a down to earth quality of his presentation, and the fact that he took many questions from audience members brought a man of the people quality to the keynote.

I've always had similar feelings in regards to Yahoo vs. Google speakers in the past. I wonder how much of this is just Google's culture and how much is careful grooming by PR?

Be sure to read Li's roundup - I had no idea Tom Cruise, Ellen DeGeneres and Robin Williams would be there... Damn! I remember the days when a Google rep on any given SES panel was enough to pack the room ;)
