Responsibilities
The Senior Account Executive
is responsible for negotiating and selling online advertising to medium to
large businesses located in the Pacific Northwest
region. The person typically works with the CEO/VP Commerce/VP Marketing level,
which requires strong relationship building at the onset. They must
develop account opportunities, define the MS products to meet the account’s
needs, and sell/close product packages to meet their business goals. This
person will interface with product teams to define new product offerings and
work with management on sales strategy. Excellent service is required to
ensure assigned accounts meet or exceed client satisfaction through up-selling
and cross selling other MS offerings. New business development will also
be a focus.
Qualifications
A minimum of five years
proven direct sales and/or business development experience preferably in
advertising or Internet sales plus two to five years other relevant business
experience, including business transactions with CEO/VP level business
people. Experience selling to national tier accounts to companies is
preferred. Candidates must have extremely strong skills in initiating high-level
contacts in accounts and their agencies, acquiring sales presentation
opportunities, and the ability to close business. Candidates must be
passionate about the benefits of technology generally and especially the
Internet. In addition, “solution selling” experience of platform/application
software is preferred.
The
ideal candidates will be action oriented, results-driven individuals able to
make sound and timely decisions in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment where
Internet advertising is often sold before product offerings are fully developed
and features change rapidly. Proven negotiation skills are a must.
Candidates must also demonstrate exceptional customer focus and be confident
communicators in phone, written and face-to-face settings. Candidates
must have excellent selling skills to successfully bring in new business and
respond to an ever changing market, and strong relationship skills for
follow-up sales and service with existing accounts. It is crucial that
candidates be able to represent Microsoft with integrity and trustworthiness,
while persuasively selling the benefits of online advertising and overcoming
any objections. Previous leadership experiences a plus.
The

As a quota carrying salesperson, a successful candidate will typically with the
senior-level marketing executives both directly and their Ad Agency
partners. Responsibilities: Negotiate and sell online advertising to marketers
and their advertising agencies. Provide superior service to assigned accounts
in order to meet or exceed client satisfaction through up-selling and cross

carrying media sales experience, preferably in online advertising. Experience
selling to Fortune 100 accounts (preferred). A proven track record of
initiating high-level contacts in accounts and their agencies, presenting, and
a proven ability to close business. Passionate about the benefits of technology
generally and especially the Internet. The ideal candidates will be action
oriented, results driven individuals able to make sound and timely decisions in
an ambiguous, fast paced environment where Internet advertising features and
client benefits change rapidly. Candidates must also demonstrate

account opportunities, define the MSN products to meet the account’s needs,
sell/close product packages to meet their revenue goals and demonstrate an
ability to forecast the status of their business to sales management. It

trustworthiness while persuasively selling the benefits of online advertising
and overcoming any objections. Candidates must have excellent
relationship (references will be required) and time management skills in order
to successfully bring in new business and respond to an ever changing
